Reflections Cremation Urns, Keepsakes and Pet Urns

We are very excited to introduce our newest line of cremation urns, keepsakes and pet urns, called the Reflections Collection. These funeral urns and memorials are so named with good reason: when placed near a sunny window, the many facets of these handmade pieces reflect a virtual constellation of lights throughout the room ... this becomes a daily and uplifting effect that occurs at the same time each day.

The Reflections Collection is comprised of funeral urns for adults in two sizes (Large for a person up to 200 lbs, and Medium for up to 175 lbs), sphere urns for a child or infant in three sizes, and spheres sized as pet urns.

The full sized urns are hand crafted in art glass, with a silver plated ring at the rim, and a choice of sphere top or flat top, depending on height availability in the urn's intended location. Included with the urn is a plastic liner bag, instructions for transfer of ashes, and permanent sealing silicone.

The spheres, also hand made in art glass, sit atop a solid brass stand and feature a solid brass Closure, which is finely threaded to the urn, and provides enough area for engraving with name, dates, and a few meaningful words of remembrance.  Included within each sphere is a plastic liner bag, instructions for ashes transfer, a velvet pouch and a small ziplock bag for containing mementos separately from the ashes.

The true beauty of our new line of urns is not only their uplifting and inspiring reflective nature, but also their affordability.  And free shipping is included in every purchase. Visit our web store at http://www.cremationurnsbylegacy.ca to see the full array of funeral urns, cremation jewelry, keepsake memorials and pet urns we offer.

The Last Dress You'll Ever Wear

Lots of people do some thinking about their own funeral plans.  If you’ve chosen cremation, your loved ones most likely know this part – but unfortunately not much else.

What happens when you pass away?  Grief-stricken, your loved ones start to organize a funeral with their chosen funeral home. As part of the cremation arrangements, they must choose an urn or box for containing the ashes.  At this point, while in a state of emotional distress, many opt for a basic box, with the intention of finding an urn later.  The box goes into the closet and creates a feeling of guilt, or is simply forgotten. This could become the last dress you’ll ever wear!

In some cases an urn is eventually purchased, and the funeral home will then transfer the ashes for you.  The urn may be placed in a cemetery, a columbarium niche at the cemetery or within your church, in a mausoleum, or within your family's home on a fireplace mantel, in a china cabinet, or on a shelf where it becomes part of the their home d├ęcor.

Most funeral homes sell traditional brass urns or wood boxes that are affordable, practical, and utilitarian.  Will this be the last dress you’ll ever wear? As a loving gesture to your family, you could save them the stress of this decision by pre-planning and finding your own urn.  You could leave them with something to inspire warm memories, an urn that reflects your style and personality.  Your urn would then be integrated into the funeral service at the front of the chapel, providing a focus for the proceedings, after which it would become part of an inurning ceremony at the cemetery, or be embraced into your loved ones’ home as a piece of art.

Meanwhile, with this loving gesture completed, you could let your family know where it is, and use it to contain your will, a letter to your family, or any mementos you wish to pass along.  You could use it as a piece of art in your own home, and a beautiful daily reminder to live well and fully.  Or enjoy it as a flower vase!  In any case, when it eventually passes on to your family, you’ll know that the Last Dress You’ll Ever Wear will be an inspiring and uplifting reminder of you that stands for your unique and enduring spirit.

To go one step further, you could record all the necessary info that your family will need to amass upon your passing.  We have a printable page here, where you can easily enter all the details they must gather, and store it in a place you will make them aware of - like, for example, inside your urn!

You could ask your Funeral Professional to source an urn from our collection, by showing them our web site, or you may buy directly from us at Cremation Urns by Legacy Canada.
